Whether you’re new to San Diego or you’ve been a lifelong resident, there are plenty of landmarks to explore in town.
- Old Town San Diego State Historic Park: Head to Old Town to explore museums and interactive historical exhibits that show what life was like for the first European settlers in California. You’ll also find plenty of shops and activities, too.
- San Diego Museum of Art: The oldest art museum in the area, the San Diego Museum of Art was designed to resemble the University of Salamanca, which was built in the 1600s.
- Balboa Park: If you’re visiting the San Diego Museum of Art, you’ll be right in the heart of Balboa Park, so you might as well explore more of this stunning area. It’s home to lots of green spaces, but also gardens, shops, and even the world-famous San Diego Zoo.
Of course, you may want to cool off after a long day of exploring the city. Don’t have your own pool? Don’t sweat it. America’s Finest City also offers quite a few water-focused parks to enjoy. Chances are good there’s something exciting just a short distance from your home and that will make a great escape for the entire family.
